FortuneCity.com Inc., established in 1997, is one of the world's 
largest independent web service providers. We are credited with hosting 
over 10 million web sites and creating the 11th most visited web 
property on the planet.

We are currently seeking one Senior Programmer and one Junior 
Programmer with 3 or more years of experience (senior) and 1 or more 
years of experience (junior) to support the growth of MyPhotoAlbum.com 
and FortuneCity.com.  The successful candidates will be part of a 
quality development team working on:

* Publicly-accessed web applications in PHP / MySQL / Apache / AJAX / 
DHTML
* Back end administrative systems written in Perl
* A Linux/Unix/OSX environment
* Participate in design, coding, testing and deployment of new features 
and new applications with a small team of programmers and system 
administrators.
* An all-OSS shop

Minimum qualifications (for Junior position):

* PHP 4/5 experience
* MySQL (you can do queries from the command line)
* Perl and OOP with Perl modules
* CVS or SVR
* Linux/Unix experience (command line, shell scripting, cron jobs, 
automated emails)
* DHTML/Javascript

Desired additional skills (Senior position):
* Working with large scale dynamic PHP applications
* Experience with the open source apps "Gallery" or "OS Commerce"
* Strong Javascript skills
* Very strong Perl skills

Definite pluses:
* Emacs user (but we have a vim user, and he's OK)
* For that matter you have a favorite text editor and you are power user
* TDD-infected
* A driving interest in design patterns and their application
* Use and love WikiWikiWebs
* Test::More is your friend
* An interest in other languages (Ruby, Lisp, C, Erlang, Ook, whatever)
* Mac or Linux zealotry (or both)
* You re-OS your Linux box on a regular basis
* You *own* a Linux box and use "re-OS" as a verb
* You know what AJAX stands for without having to look it up in 
Wikipedia

The final word:
* MUST live in or around the Tri-State area. PLEASE NOTE.
* Bachelor degree in computer science preferred.
* These positions are for ON PREMISE work only in Chelsea, Manhattan
* This is a full time position. U.S. residents only. No contractors 
please.
* Compensation depending on experience
